Harbour View Child Care Centre is always looking for Casual Registered Early Childhood Educators and casual cooks. 

All Early Childhood Educator Positions require the following qualifications:

• Two Year Early Childhood Education diploma or equivalent approved by the provincial licensing process.
• First Aid and CPR certified. Level C
• Member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators, ability to abide by code of ethics.
• Ability to effectively interact and relate to children in a developmentally appropriate manner.
• Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation such as, The Child Care and Early Years Act and How Does Learning Happen, pedagogical document. The policies and procedures to ensure that children are supervised and safe at all times.
• Ability to pass a Vulnerable Sector criminal reference check.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High levels of patience.
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude and high energy level.
• Genuinely committed to helping children learn.
• Ability to recognize individual learning styles and the characteristics of learners.
• High level of attention to confidentiality.
• Ability to remain calm in tense situations.

The Cook Position requires the following qualifications:

• Culinary Management diploma or two years experience cooking. Cooking for children is an asset.
• First Aid and CPR certified. Level C
• Safe Food Handling Course
• Ability to abide by code of ethics.
• Ability to effectively interact and relate to children in a developmentally appropriate manner.
• Knowledge of Word and menu planning.
• Knowledge of Centre’s philosophy and program statement.
• Ability to pass a Vulnerable Sector criminal reference check.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High levels of patience.
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude and high energy level.
• Genuinely committed to providing healthy, nutritious meals and snacks.
• High level of attention to confidentiality.
• Ability to remain calm in tense situations.
